Encourage your Kids to Keep the House Clean

Kids are needed to be trained for proper cleanliness from their childhood. Especially a kid who is least bothered about cleanliness, needs proper coaching on keeping the house clean. For this, the first thing you need to do is to represent yourself as a role model and then encourage your kids to participate with you in keeping the house clean. Here I am providing you with some guidelines that will help you encourage your kids to clean their rooms and house. By following these guidelines, you can make this a fun activity for your kids:

  • One thing you must remember is that your kids are after all younger ones and if you will pressurize them to engage in cleaning process, they will get annoyed. Therefore, always ask them to help you for just 10 to 15 minutes.
  • If you have more than one kid, you can set some competition among them. For example, you can ask them to collect their scattered toys as soon as they can. This will definitely encourage a sense of cleanliness in your kids.
  • Hide their favorite things like candies and chocolates and ask kids if they clean their room, they will find those things. In this way, your kids will try to finish the given task in minimum time.
  • Don’t give same job to your kids daily as it will make them bored. For example, if today, you have asked them to help you in laundry, you should ask them to do dusting the next day.
  • You can also make cleaning process a fun by playing your kid’s favorite music. He/she will not only do his/her job but will also enjoy.
  • Give your kids rewards and incentives for keeping their room and house clean. This reward may be a verbal praise or a written note of appreciation. You may also take them out to their favorite amusement park or fun area as a reward of their act.

I hope that you will find these tips really useful to boost up a sense of responsibility and hygiene in your kids. At the same time, you will also feel satisfied with behavior of your kids.

Teens Should Follow these Natural Beauty Tips

Teens of this modern era mostly rely on commercial beauty products being unaware of the fact that these products are not only expensive but also harmful for their soft and immature skin. Fortunately, we are blessed by nature with some beauty products. Then why shouldn’t we go for these? It is better to use these natural beauty products to get beauty and elegance in a natural and harmless way. Here I will give you a list of some natural beauty products which teens can use without any fear:

Teenagers are always conscious about their appearance and try to enhance their looks by coloring or bleaching their hair. The best and easiest way to do this is to use lemon juice for lightening hair color. Acid in lemon works in the same way as harsh chemicals do to bleach your hair. The method to do this is very simple. Before going into sun, wet your hair thoroughly with lemon juice. When you are done, use a natural conditioner to restore softness of your hair. It is necessary because lemon juice can dry your hair.

Teens are often feel stressed and under pressure because of their busy school routine and a lot of homework. At the same time, they have to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities. This busy routine and lack of rest and sleep results in dark circles under their eyes. Teens can get rid of dark circles and eye puffiness by placing sliced and cold raw cucumbers on eyes to reduce swelling and dark circles. Doing this will not only make them alert but soothe the eyes as well.

Most of the teenagers become worried when they see acne appearing on their face. As a treatment of acne, honey can be used because it has anti-bacterial properties. Other things which can be used are peppermint as it has anti-inflammatory qualities. As a treatment of oily face, cooked oatmeal can be used as it absorbs excessive oil when used as a facial mask. Remember that bacteria, inflammation and oily skin contribute to development of acne so using any one of these natural beauty products can heal pimples more quickly. I will also recommend you to rub crushed mint leaves directly on acne. You can also make a facial mask with cooked oatmeal and honey to heal and relieve your skin.

Teens often find themselves suffering from damaged hair due to excessive perming, straightening or dyeing. Teens use these tricks to enhance and groom their looks but as a result, they damage their hair. But there is always a solution to a problem. To restore shine and softness of hair, olive oil can be used. If you have dry damaged hair then brush olive oil through your hair and then wrap your hair in towel. Wash oil out of your hair after one hour or so. Use a natural or organic shampoo to wash your hair. Olive oil can not only be used for treatment of damaged hair but it can also be used to make facial masks to prevent dry skin.

These were some of the natural beauty products which teens are recommended to use instead of going for expensive, harmful and unnatural beauty products.

Useful Tips for the Treatment of Frostbite

Frostbite is either a temporary or permanent tissue damage which occurs as a result of exposure to extreme cold temperatures. In frostbite, body tissues freeze in cold and the ice crystals in tissues damage cells. Frostbite should be treated immediately or otherwise it may cause serious harm. Before moving towards the treatment of frostbite, let’s have a look at its symptoms:

  • Memory loss
  • Skin stiffness
  • Pain and burning
  • Numbness
  • Pale color of damaged areas
  • Shivering
  • Change in skin color from white to purple or red
  • Swelling

Treatment of Frostbite

  • If you see a person suffering from frostbite, immediately take him/her to a shelter from chilling conditions.
  • After this, remove clothes from affected areas of skin.
  • Now immerse affected areas in lukewarm water. For this, fill a shallow container with sufficient water to cover frostbitten area. Temperature of water should be about 98 to 105 degrees that is almost around body temperature or a little warmer than this.
  • Refresh water in container as it becomes cool. The water temperature should be kept as consistent as possible. Damaged tissues will take 50 to 60 minutes to become comfortable and soft.
  • When you see that damaged tissues have become flexible, pour an anti-septic liquid in water.
  • Soak affected area in that bath water to minimize chances of infection.
  • Give affected person warm fluids with high sugar content.
  • For an immediate relief, you can also use another remedy. Just soak a towel in hot water and squeeze it well. Now place this towel on affected area.

Things not to do

  • Frostbitten tissues should never be rubbed because massaging damaged tissues will result in severe injuries.
  • Don’t use heating devices like fires, heaters and stoves to warm the body. The reason is that affected person will not feel frostbitten tissue and so can be burned.
  • Do not try to walk on frostbitten feet.
  • Stimulants should not be used in frostbite because stimulants like nicotine and caffeine will make condition worse.

If you will follow these tips, you will see mild frostbites to heal immediately but full recovery can still take 6 to 12 months during which patients can suffer from pain and burns. Another thing which I would like to add is that the above given treatments are immediate home remedies. There is a need of proper treatment anyway so you should take affected person to hospital as soon as possible.

Tips to Decorate Kids’ Bathroom

Decorating children’s bathroom is a fun filled activity as well as it has become a necessity because kids like to personalize their spaces including bathroom. Are you also planning to decorate your children’s bathroom? Wait!!! Have you got enough tips and ideas for this purpose? Well, I have gathered some of tips on decorating children’s bathroom which are described below. If you are interested, just have a look on these tips:

  • Have you thought about some themes to decorate your children’s bathroom? Yes it is the most important and first step towards decorating. Selection of a theme will depend on your kid’s choice. Some kids want only some basic accessories of bathroom in their favorite colors while some others want their bathrooms decorated with a proper theme having wall color, linens and all other accessories accordingly. So after deciding on a theme, buy some accessories like shower curtain and towels in colors which are well suited to the decided theme.
  • Another way to personalize a bathroom is to paint it differently. Choose a paint that has glossy effect as well as it is easy to clean. Most of the people complain about spoiled bathroom paint. Actually they make mistake of choosing wrong paints. Always buy a paint that can resist humidity. You can also paint cartoon characters in bathroom. For example, if your kid is a lover of Disney cartoon characters, you can paint Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh on the walls of bathroom. But make sure that you are not using too bright colors in bathroom and try using colors that can work with different themes. Light green shades are mostly liked by kids of all ages while bathroom painted in stripes pattern is liked by teens.
  • Painted walls can also be further decorated with stickers. These stickers are removable and reusable as well as they can stick to the painted walls quite easily. You can also apply these stickers onto the tiles of shower stall instead of walls. These stickers are also available in different themes like animals, sports, planets and sometimes they feature characters like spider man and superman. Again you will choose these stickers according to your kid’s age. If you have toddlers, you can use stickers featuring characters like Bob The Builder. If your kid is a girl then think about buying stickers featuring Barbie doll.
  • After painting walls with your kid’s favorite colors and cartoon characters, buy new accessories. If you have decorated a bathroom for toddlers, you can buy rubber duckies and if your kids are older, you can buy accessories like cartoon characters and toys featuring their superheroes.

I hope you will like my ideas and will surely apply these to decorate your kid’s bathroom.

Tips to Break Bad TV Habits in Kids

Have your kids developed bad TV habits? Don’t worry because it’s never too late. All you need to do in this case is to control the situation to break this bad habit. To help you further, I will give you some tips and suggestions which will prove quite beneficial for you to overcome the situation:

  • First thing which you can do is to make TV a hard to use thing. For this, you can take TV out of your kids’ room or place it in store room to get rid of it. Emphasize on watching family TV together and place that TV in an armoire having doors with it so that you can lock the doors after watching TV. If you don’t have an armoire in your home, take remote control and simply hide it from your kids.
  • Do not let your kids watch TV alone because your kids are not able to make a wise viewing decision alone. Watch TV with your kids to make sure that they are watching only those programs which are appropriate for their ages.
  • Limit the time of watching TV to maximum of two or three hours a day. This does not mean at all that you are ought to allow those two hours daily. You can create some activities for your kids so that they agree on watching TV even less than those two hours. It is even better to limit watching TV to weekends because it is easier to handle weekend TV viewing.
  • Kids always imitate what their parents do so try to be a good example for your kids and watch less TV. For this, you will need to show them that you don’t need a TV to have fun and enjoy. Make them understand that there are a lot more activities which they can do to relax.
  • If your kids want to watch shows which are inappropriate for their maturity levels then have a conversation with them. Encourage your kids to explain to you why they want to watch that particular show. Then make them understand by explaining why a specific show is not good for their mental level.
  • You can also set some rules for watching TV. For example, if your kid has watched a particular episode of a show more than once, it means it is no longer eligible for viewing as watching more than once is enough.
  • Make a TV schedule to plan viewing time. Help your kids highlighting those shows which they don’t want to miss. Encourage them to use any other color to indicate those shows which they can easily edit from their viewing plan. I think this is the most appropriate technique to help kids breaking bad TV habit.

Ideas for Decorating Home Spa

Spa always proves to be a relaxing and attractive addition to a home. Mostly in homes, spas are created in backyards so sometimes they look awkward. To blend your spa into the landscape, you need to do some decoration of your home spa so that it may look an elegant part of your home. Are you also planning to decorate your home spa? If yes then you must need some exclusive ideas to make it possible. Yes!!!! I have got some wonderful ideas to decorate a home spa which I want to share with you:

Make your spa romantic enough to create privacy. You can do so in a number of ways. You can either place a decorative screen next to your spa or build a wooden fence. Building an arbor is also a good idea but if you are going to build an arbor, consider hanging strings of lights from it to make it more elegant. Also place or build a bench into arbor to place towels and items like that. Placing a bench will also provide seating for guests who may want to converse you while you are in your spa.

Another idea is to decorate your spa by building a deck around it. This will not only give your spa a good look but also make it easy to enter and exit your spa. To make your spa even more useful, you can place a fireplace on deck near your spa so that you can dry off your body after getting out of water.

My personal favorite idea to decorate a home spa is to use plants for decoration as they give a soothing and tropical feel. I will recommend you to pace palms or other potted plants around your spa or you can also plant fragrant bushes and trees like jasmine. If you also have a wall adjacent to your spa then hang shelves with wall and then place flower pots on these shelves. Instead of plants, you can also decorate your spa with trailing vines because they will beautify your ugly looking wall as well as they will add to the ambience of your home spa. If you have planted vines then you will also have to take care that vines are kept pruned so that their leaves may not fall in water or in spa.

Candles are also an interesting and simple way to decorate a spa. To create a romantic feel, you can use floating candles or otherwise you can decorate the edges of spa with votive candles. Here I will again like to add that you must be careful while decorating your spa with candles. Make sure that there are no chances of getting burned. Don’t place candles near enter and exit area of spa so that you may enter and exit spa carefree.

That was all about my ideas for decorating a home spa.  Follow these ideas and make your home spa look more romantic, soothing and elegant.
